Early tester terms
2026-10-16
This document is incomplete: legalName, legalForm, address, registrationNumber, publicationDirector, contactEmail, privacyEmail have not been filled in yet. It must not be published as it stands.
These terms apply to anyone who asks for early access to bcards, operated by PLACEHOLDER, and to anyone who uses bcards before its public launch. Ticking the box on the request form means accepting them. They add to the terms of service and the privacy policy, which still apply.
What early access is
Early access is a pre-release version of bcards, still under active development. It is offered so that a small number of people can use the service before launch and tell us what works and what does not.
Features may change, move or be removed without notice, and some will be unfinished. Early access may also end, for everyone or for one person, before or at launch.
During early access, approved testers use the Pro plan at no charge.
Who may join
Joining requires our approval. We read every request and decide which ones to accept; we may decline a request without giving a reason.
An approval is personal. The sign-up link we send works only for the email address it was sent to, for a limited time, and must not be passed on or sold.
Someone invited by an organization that is already part of early access may create their account through that invitation.
What we collect and why
- Your request: your name, email address, company (for an organization), why you want bcards, how you heard about us, whether you would be interested in becoming an ambassador, the address you would like for your card, your language, and the version of these terms you accepted, with the date. We use it to decide on your request, to write to you about it and to understand who bcards is for.
- Your account, your cards and the contacts they capture: as described in the privacy policy, under the same rules and with the same rights.
- Error reports: when something breaks, a technical report is sent to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., European Union region) so we can fix it. Personal data is removed before sending: no account identifier, no IP address, no cookie, and tokens are stripped from addresses.
- Usage counters: views, scans and similar numbers, counted without ever storing an IP address, as the privacy policy describes.
We do not sell this data, and we do not use it for advertising.
How long we keep requests
We keep every request, including declined ones, as a record of who asked. A declined request can be approved later, and you may ask again.
A request is kept until you ask us to delete it. Write to PLACEHOLDER and we will delete it.
The risks of using a pre-release service
A pre-release service is less reliable than a finished one. By using early access you accept the following risks:
- bugs and errors, including features that do not work as described;
- loss or corruption of data, including cards, images and captured contacts;
- interruptions and downtime, planned or not;
- security incidents, including unauthorized access to your account or a data breach, despite the measures we take;
- features changed or removed;
- a reset of the data held during early access before launch, only if we announce it in advance;
- failures of the third-party services we rely on, such as hosting, email delivery and file storage.
Keep your own copy of anything that matters to you. Settings lets you export your data at any time.
Limitation of liability
Early access is provided as is and as available, without any guarantee that it will work without interruption or error.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect loss, for loss of data, or for loss of business, revenue or opportunity arising from the use of early access.
This limitation does not apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct on our part, nor to any liability the law does not allow to be excluded or limited.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under data-protection law.
Our commitments
bcards is at an early stage, and we are building it on the principles of the GDPR: we collect only what the service needs, use it only for the purpose stated, host the application, its database and its files in the European Union, and delete what we hold when you ask.
We fix the bugs we find or that you report, and we keep securing our infrastructure.
If an incident affects your data, we will tell you without undue delay, with what we know and what we are doing about it.
Feedback
Send feedback, requests and bug reports to feedback@bcards.io, or from the help menu in the dashboard.
Feedback is optional. When you send it, you allow us to use it to improve bcards, freely and without owing you anything for it. We will not publish your name or your words without asking you first.
Ambassadors
Your answer to the ambassador question only records your interest. It commits neither you nor us.
No commission or other payment is promised until ambassador terms exist and you have accepted them.
The offer at launch
We intend to make early testers an offer when bcards launches. It will be described when it is published.
Nothing in these terms or in our emails is a commitment to a price, a plan or a duration before that offer is published.
Leaving
You can stop using early access at any time. Settings lets you export your data and delete your account; deletion is immediate and permanent, and removes your cards and the contacts they captured.
To have your request deleted as well, write to PLACEHOLDER.
We may end your early access if these terms or the terms of service are breached, or when early access ends for everyone, with notice except in an emergency.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Tunisian law. Disputes fall to the competent courts of the operator's registered seat, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules.
